Founder & Technical Director
Stephen Havenga is the technical driving force behind EMPH Engineering Solutions. With more than two decades of engineering and manufacturing experience, he has developed extensive expertise in precision machining, product development, hydraulic systems, and mechanical engineering.
Throughout his career, Stephen has held senior technical and management positions, leading engineering teams, overseeing complex manufacturing operations, and developing innovative solutions for demanding industrial and marine applications. His practical approach, exceptional attention to detail, and passion for solving complex engineering challenges ensure that every project meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
As Technical Director, Stephen oversees engineering design, product development, manufacturing, quality control, and technical innovation. His commitment to continuous improvement and practical engineering excellence has been instrumental in establishing EMPH as a trusted engineering partner for clients throughout South Africa and beyond.
Mitcham Haynes
Founder & Director of Business Development
Mitcham Haynes combines technical expertise with a passion for building lasting client relationships. Beginning his career in the hydraulic industry in 2006, he has gained extensive experience in hydraulic systems, technical sales, business development, and turnkey engineering solutions across the marine, industrial, and mobile sectors.
His in-depth understanding of hydraulic design and customer requirements allows him to bridge the gap between engineering excellence and commercial success. Mitcham works closely with clients from the initial concept through design, quotation, manufacturing, and commissioning, ensuring every solution is tailored to their operational needs and long-term objectives.
As Director of Business Development, Mitcham leads the company’s strategic growth, customer partnerships, and market expansion while continually seeking new technologies and opportunities that strengthen EMPH’s position as a leader in hydraulic and mechanical engineering.
His vision is to build a company recognised for precision engineering, innovation, integrity, and exceptional customer service—delivering world-class engineering solutions proudly designed and manufactured in South Africa.
